INTERNSHIP

We are accepting applications for internships in all areas of work related to the planning, organizing, and implementation activities and events for the International Conference on “Youth, Ocean and SDG 14” #ICYO 2019.

Purpose of the Internships

The internships provides an opportunity for young adult interested in volunteering and service to gain valuable outreach experience with non-profit. You will gain skills in speaking, writing, promotion, outreach, research, networking and community-building. We encourage all interested, between the ages of 18 to 30, to apply. Our application process is designed to help you match your goals with the best internship opportunity. The intern is expected to be flexible and ready for multi-tasking in office and in field.

Eligibility

All internships with the ICYO 2019 team are non-paid and based in Melaka, Malaysia. Meals and transportation are not provided. However, modest accommodation is provided during the internship period only. The duration of internships is 3 months, from June to August 2019. As an intern, you must have an interest in contributing to the goals of the World Youth Foundation (WYF) – an NGO, the main organizers of ICYO 2019.

  • Interns must possess at least Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any field.
  • Interns with at least one (1) year of relevant internship/ working experience are preferred.
  • Interns will be located in Malaysia and available to work in WYF office located in Melaka, Malaysia for at least 30 hours per week.
  • Interns with good communication skills, experience with research and writing, strategic, creative and innovative thinking, strong logical and analytic writing, able to assume responsibility and have good leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, planning, organizing and enthusiasm for research, willing to understand different views and opinion, basic understanding of social issues, particularly youth are preferred.
  • Interns must have knowledge in WYF mission & goals, ocean preservation and conservation, UN Sustainable Development Goals 14 and relevant SDGs, is essential.
  • English and Bahasa Melayu are the working languages. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. Knowledge of an additional language is desirable.

Field for Internships

Liaison with ICYO 2019 partner organizations, program planning and development, communication and public relation, social media and digital design, delegate registration, documentation, outreach, fundraising and etc. Intern applicants should specify which area/s interests them most in the application.
