World Youth Foundation (WYF) today (28/9) hosted a group of Japanese youths from the Tochigi-Ken Seinen Kaikan Foundation (TSKF). The visitors were led by Mr. Sato Yasuhiro. Also present was President of TSKF, Mr. Oshima Shigeru and members of the Negeri Sembilan Youth Council led by its President, Hon. Mohd Fairos Rusli.
Guest of Honour was His Excellency Tun Seri Setia Dr. Hj. Mohd Ali bin Mohd Rustam, the Governor of the state of Melaka. A total of slightly more than 100 guests attended the luncheon which was held at the WYF Hall in Ayer Keroh, Melaka.
Secretary General of the World Youth Foundation (WYF), Dato Dr. Norsabrina bt Mohd Noor, spoke on behalf of Datuk Mohd Ridhwan Mohd Ali, Chairman of WYF. In her welcoming speech, she thanked His Excellency Tun Seri Setia Dr. Hj. Mohd Ali bin Mohd Rustam for gracing the function and the luncheon despite the latter’s busy schedule. She stressed that Datuk Mohd Ridhwan’s friendship with Mr. Mohd Fairos Rusli goes a long way and that WYF was deeply honoured to organise this special luncheon.
She is hopeful that the relationship and cooperation between members of the Youth Council in Negeri Sembilan will be enhanced as both entities look forward to a fruitful and mutually rewarding collaborative activities to benefit not only youths in Malaysia but also on an international basis like the youths from Japan which WYF is hosting today.
“To our friends from Japan, we hope you enjoy your stay in Melaka, a UNESCO World Heritage city, and take home with you pleasant memories of this historical city”, ended Dato’ Dr. Norsabrina. Guests and visitors were entertained to a sumptuous traditional Malay lunch and entertained to songs sung by both Japanese youths as well as their Malaysian counterparts.
