AYER KEROH: A total of 114 university and college students from the Hang Tuah Jaya Parliamentary Constituency who are and currently pursuing higher education at various universities and colleges in Malaysia and overseas, were honoured at the Hang Tuah Jaya Outstanding Student Awards Ceremony 2026. The award ceremony held on 16th September was in recognition of their respective outstanding achievements and excellence in education.
Of this number, 11 were selected to receive special awards in various categories, recognising their achievements, talents, leadership and contributions in their respective fields.
The ceremony, organised by the Melaka Students Association (MEGA), Active Nation and the World Youth Foundation (WYF), was officiated by the Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Melaka, Tun Dr Hj. Mohd Ali Mohd Rustam.
Tun Dr Mohd Ali also presented the awards at the ceremony held at the WYF Hall, which was attended by the President of the Melaka Students Association, Datuk Mohd Ridhwan Mohd Ali.
Also present were Deputy Director-General of Higher Education (Governance and Development), Department of Higher Education, Dr Noraisah Spahat; TNB Melaka General Manager, Mariati Che Omar; and WYF Secretary-General, Datuk Dr Norsabrina Mohd Noor.
The Special Category for Persons with Disabilities (OKU) was awarded to Ahmad Hafizzuddin Abdul Aziz from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), while Muhammad Darimi Muhammad Najib from Kolej Vokasional Melaka Tengah received the Innovation Award.
The Promising Student Award was presented to Nur Adriana Batriesya Amry from UiTM, followed by Norhafizah Hashim from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), who received the Sports Award.
The Entrepreneurship Award was presented to Nabilah Aswan from UiTM; Haikal Arif Ghazali from UKM received the Culture and Arts Award; Fatin Syahirah Anuar from Al-Azhar University, Egypt, received the Volunteerism Award; and Fadhli Alias from UiTM received the Leadership Award.
Siti Nur Sofiyyah Mohd Shahabudin, a student of Kolej Vokasional Melaka Tengah, received the Special Award from the Student Representative Council (MPP), while Haikal Arif Ghazali from UKM received the Hang Tuah Award.
Nur Adriana Batriesya Amry was also named the sole recipient of the Tun Ali Award, which was also the highest award presented at the ceremony.
Datuk Mohd Ridhwan said the organisation of the ceremony not only recognised university students who had achieved outstanding results and performances in their respective fields, but also served as an encouragement for more young people in the Hang Tuah Jaya Parliamentary Constituency to continue pursuing excellence in education, actively participating in societies and non-governmental organisations while developing their respective potentialities.
“The ceremony also reflects the continuous efforts to recognise the achievements of local youth who will become an important group in the development of society and the nation, while fostering a culture of excellence among the younger generation of Melaka,” he stressed.
