The STPM Aspirasi Gemilang Programme, organised by the World Youth Foundation for students sitting for the Malaysian Higher School Certificate (STPM), was recently held at the WYF Hall in Ayer Keroh, Melaka. The event also featured the launch of the book Munshi Abdullah: Remembering a Legacy, officiated by His Excellency Tun Seri Setia Dr. Haji Mohd Ali bin Mohd Rustam, Governor of Melaka.
According to World Youth Foundation Chairman Datuk Mohd Ridhwan Mohd Ali, the STPM Aspirasi Gemilang Programme aims to inspire and build confidence among students who will be sitting for their STPM examinations soon. Datuk Mohd Ridhwan expressed confidence that the programme would help instil hope and motivation, particularly among students from the Hang Tuah Jaya parliamentary constituency in Melaka, encouraging them to achieve excellent results in the 2026 STPM examinations.
“As parents and teachers, we sincerely hope that all students will focus on their upcoming examinations with confidence and thorough preparation. This includes revising their subjects diligently and developing the ability to answer examination questions effectively. As a reminder, good results will make it easier for you to gain admission to local or overseas colleges and universities to further your studies,” said Datuk Mohd Ridhwan.
Approximately 420 students preparing to sit for the STPM examinations attended the programme, accompanied by the Melaka Tengah District Education Officer, Tuan Haji Mohd Yusri bin Seman, school principals, and teachers. Also present was Dato’ Dr. Nursabrina binti Mohd Nor, Secretary-General of the World Youth Foundation.
At the same event, guests witnessed the launch of the Bahasa Malaysia edition of the book titled Munshi Abdullah: Remembering a Legacy, authored by lawyer and former judge Datuk Siti Saleha Sheikh Abu Bakar, the great-granddaughter of Munshi Abdullah.
The book is an adaptation and continuation of the English edition, Munshi Abdullah: A Legacy, which documents the family genealogy and contributions of Munshi Abdullah Sheikh Abdul Kadir, widely recognised as the Father of Modern Malay Literature.
Beyond documenting the family’s history, the book also highlights the values of responsibility, education, and public service passed down through generations. It also pays tribute to Melaka as the birthplace of Munshi Abdullah.
