WYF Chairman accorded exemplary Sustainability Champion CEO Award by SustNET

World Youth Foundation (WYF) Chairman, Hon. Datuk Mohd. Ridhwan bin Mohd. Ali received the Sustainability Champion CEO Award at the 3rd Asia-Pacific Sustainability Conference (APSC 2025).  The Conference was held at the Berjaya Hall, Bukit Kiara Equestrian & Country Resort, Kuala Lumpur on August 20th 2025. 

According to Datuk Mohd Ridhwan, receiving this award marks a significant milestone for youth movements in Malaysia and the region as it reinforces our determination to contribute meaningfully to global sustainability efforts.  As we look to the future, WYF remains committed to working collaboratively across sectors and borders to address the most pressing challenges of our time—climate change, biodiversity loss, environmental justice, and planetary health. 

“This recognition strengthens our resolve to be a catalyst for transformation, ensuring that sustainability remains at the heart of development and that no one is left behind in the journey towards a thriving, equitable, and sustainable world,” said Datuk Mohd. Ridhwan.  “I thank the organisers of the Asia Pacific Sustainability Conference & Awards 2025 for this honour and to each and everyone of us who continue to support and believe in our vision for a clean and sustainable environment.  Together, we move forward—stronger, more united, and more committed than ever,” he stressed.

Datuk Mohd Ridhwan Mohd Ali is a visionary leader with an extensive track record in youth empowerment, public service, and sustainable development. Appointed as the 7th President of Gerakan Belia 4B Malaysia during its 42nd and 43rd Annual General Assembly in May 2023, he also serves as President of Majlis Gabungan Belia Melaka (MGBM) from 2014 to 2023 and Chairman of the World Youth Foundation , where he champions global youth initiatives.

Datuk Ridhwan holds a Master of Business Administration from UiTM and a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the University of Auckland. His early professional journey includes roles at Tenaga Nasional Berhad and Malaysia Mining Corporation Oil & Gas, where he led smart meter deployment and engineering projects.

In public service, he has served as a Senator in the Dewan Negara (Senate), CEO of Perbadanan Kemajuan Tanah Adat Melaka, and General Manager of Yayasan Melaka , overseeing township development, housing, and agricultural programs.  He is also Chairman of Koperasi MGBM Melaka and Yayasan Dunia Melayu Dunia Islam (DMDI) .

A passionate advocate for youth development and empowerment, Datuk Ridhwan has been active in NGOs since 2008. He leads various organisations including the Melaka Graduates Association and the Scouts Association of Malaysia, and was nominated to contest for President of Majlis Belia Malaysia (MBM) in 2023.

Honored with the Ma’al Hijrah Award (Youth Category) in 2018, he is also a Certified Grid-Connected Photovoltaic System Designer under SEDA.  He resides in Ayer Keroh, Melaka with his wife Dr. Nur Azieha and their three children.
