World Nurses Day – 12 May 2026

In conjunction with the World Nurses Day Celebration, the World Youth Foundation (WYF) traditionally commemorates this special occasion by presenting cakes, certificates of appreciation, and “goodie bags” to nurses serving at health clinics around Melaka Tengah.

The Chairman of WYF, Datuk Mohd Ridhwan Mohd Ali, personally attended the event to present certificates of appreciation to the nurses serving at Klinik Kesihatan Ayer Molek. Also present were the Secretary-General of WYF, Dato Noorsabrina bt Mohd Noor, the Chief Matron of the Melaka Tengah District Health Office, Puan Erly Kasmuni, as well as supervisors and nurses from the clinic. The event was enlivened with a symbolic cake-cutting ceremony, followed by the presentation of certificates of appreciation and “goodie bags” to the matrons and nurses serving at Klinik Kesihatan Ayer Molek.

According to the Chairman of WYF, Datuk Mohd Ridhwan Mohd Ali, WYF together with its staff wished to express their deepest appreciation and gratitude to all nurses for their contributions, sacrifices, and dedication in safeguarding the health and well-being of society.

“The nursing profession is not merely a job, but a responsibility that demands patience, perseverance, and a high level of humanity. Nurses are always on the front lines — extending assistance, providing treatment, and becoming a source of strength for patients and their families, regardless of time and circumstances,” he said.

The whole world greatly appreciates the sacrifices made by nurses who willingly dedicate their time, energy, and emotions to ensure every patient receives the best possible care. In today’s increasingly challenging world, the role of nurses has become even more important as the backbone of the nation’s healthcare system.

This year’s Nurses Day theme, “Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives,” reminds us that compassion, professionalism, and teamwork are the key foundations in building a healthy and prosperous society. Therefore, let us continue supporting efforts to empower the nursing profession through training, skills development, and the recognition they truly deserve, he added.

To all nurses, thank you for your service and sacrifices. May all these noble efforts continue to be blessed and inspire future generations. Happy World Nurses Day to all individuals who proudly carry the title of nurse.
